Sozo for Professional Counselors: Integrating Psychology and Inner Healing to Restore Individuals to Wholeness
This book is written for mental health professionals who are interested in bringing the power of God into their work by integrating Bethel Sozo, a unique inner healing and deliverance ministry, into their therapeutic model. It will also benefit non-professionals who are interested in learning about personal growth and healing and how it relates to psychology. Based on Dr. Margaret Nagib's personal experience using Sozo in the clinical setting, this easy-to-read manual provides practical instruction and real-life examples of how Sozo and psychotherapy can be used in conjunction to achieve effective, efficient, and powerful transformation in the lives of clients.
About the Author:
Dr. Margaret Nagib is a clinical psychologist specializing in Christian counseling, inner healing, and in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma, self-injury and mood disorders. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL and has been working in the field of Christian and secular psychology since 1998. She graduated from two years of Bethel Church's Supernatural School of Ministry (BSSM) in 2011. Margaret has worked both in outpatient and residential settings utilizing Sozo in her client care. She has had the opportunity to see firsthand how Sozo brings healing and hope to even the most serious of psychological problems.
Margaret is a professional speaker in both the secular and Christian counseling worlds. Her presentations focus on treating the whole person—mind, body and spirit—and teaching Christian clinicians to integrate the power of Holy Spirit via Sozo. As an expert in providing treatment from a spiritual perspective, Margaret has written articles for Relevant magazine, Addiction Professional and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Today's Christian Woman, and on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Fox News and various radio programs nationwide. As the Director for Professional Counselors for the International Bethel Sozo Organization, Margaret holds Basic Sozo trainings for both professional and lay counselors, conferences on wholeness for church groups, and speaks to various professional groups and organizations on spirituality and counseling as well as a variety of other mental health topics.
Sozo has sparked a new passion in Margaret to bring the power of Holy Spirit to the professional counseling realm. Her hope is to mobilize a new generation of Christian therapists dedicated to integrating psychology and inner healing and to change the face of psychology by providing education, resources, and shifting paradigms regarding the role of the Spirit in transformative work.
